Congratulations! You’ve made your selection and purchased your Locks of Luxury Premium Virgin Hair. Now that the hard part is over, here are some tips to help keep your up. For optimum results, we recommend you follow our instructions for care starting with Washing your bundles prior to install. Follow the steps bellow and the wash will always be a breeze!

Detangle

First you want to make sure your extensions have been detangled; you won’t have to worry about this step until after you’ve installed your extensions. Using a wide tooth comb is best for this, start from the ends and work your way up gently towards the weft. Take your time, you don’t want to lose hair by just combing through any tangles.

Shampoo and Condition

You want to wash your Locks of Luxury extensions with cold water using your shampoo and conditioner of your choice (sulfate free is best). Using a bout 2-3 tablespoons of shampoo lather your hair using gentle downward strokes. You may find yourself wanting to rub your extensions together to get a good lather, but this isn’t needed or recommended. Once you have rinsed the shampoo out, simply pat dry and apply your conditioner and follow the same steps you did with the shampoo.

Note: It is recommended that you wash your extensions at least once every 7-14 days to keep them free of dirt/product/build up. Deep condition your extensions every 3-4 washes, apply conditioner generously (saturate those extensions) and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Drying

In order to preserve the life of your extensions we do not recommend blow drying if you don’t have to. Air drying is the best way to dry your hair, we recommend hanging your extensions to let them air dry. Note: Curly/Wavy textures- After condition you may want to scrunch or “plop” your extensions just a little to help bring out the natural pattern. Some people prefer to lay the hair flat to dry as it helps to keep the natural wave pattern of the hair as it dries.

Styling

So you’ve finally made it to the best part! You can style your Locks of Luxury extensions just as you would your natural hair. We recommend using a heat protectant on your extensions when doing any heat styling. Use a light moisturizer such as Argan oil to help keep your hair shiny and light. For wavy textures you can create a mixture of water, conditioner, and argan oil (very little). You can spray this mixture on your hair in the morning or any time to help get your waves popping!

Color: Your Luxe collection extensions can be colored/Bleached to your liking. We recommend you consult with a professional for any color services as your hair is an investment and you want to protect it!

Note: Always consult with a professional for color services on your extensions. Excessive heat styling can compromise the wave pattern of your extensions, this cannot be reversed. We are not responsible for any change in texture or quality due to chemical processes.
